The architecture of the future is being created today
Continuing a long-standing tradition, in June 2018 the defense of diploma works began in Saint-Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering again. Students graduating from the faculties of SPSUACE show the knowledge gained during the years of study. Perhaps, it is these ideas that will determine the architectural appearance of the planet in the future, will set those fundamental directions for the development of the entire architectural and construction industry.
This year the Italian colleagues: the General Director of the architectural studio Raffaele Gambassi, the Professor of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental engineering of the Milan Technical University Elsa Garavalia, as well as the Professor of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Studies of the Milan Technical University Alessandro Rocca and Francesca Battisti take part in the certification of final qualification works of the Faculty of Architecture of SPSUACE. According to the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture F. V. Perov, this is necessary for the international approbation of student diploma works.
Relevant themes, new techniques and technology, a combination of multi-functionality and a single concept are the things that distinguish the projects presented to the attention of the members of the State Examination Board. "I look at the master plan and see how successfully and appropriately the artificial and natural forms are combined ... this is a sign how to treat nature," the Doctor of Architecture, the corresponding member of RAACN and the IAAM, the Professor of the Department of Architectural Design of SPSUACE, Yu.I. Kurbatov shared his opinion on one of the projects.
Graduates of the Faculty of Civil Engineering were actively engaged in science, won the competitions, which could not but affect the level of their final qualification works. Many graduates of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Municipal Services get a diploma with honors, and the undergraduates of the Automobile and Road Building Faculty are practically already employed – their theoretical knowledge is reliably applied in practice. At full speed there is a defense at the Faculty of Economics and Management: the future economists are ready for the requirements of the modern employers for 100%. The Faculty of Forensic Investigation and Law in Construction and Transport for the first time has a graduation on the specialty "Forensic investigation". Graduates studying by correspondence are also just one step away from finishing their education.
