The Federal Intellectual Property Service of the Russian Federation granted Patent No. 2694427 for the invention of a “Dynamic training simulator for sustainable car driving,” dated July 12, 2019 to St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. The inventor is Associate Professor of the SPbGASU Department of Transport Maintenance Levan Ye. Torosyan.
The dynamic training simulator for sustainable car driving is designed for both training novice drivers and advanced training of experienced drivers. The developed design of the training simulator allows to simulate the behavior of the car in case of loss of directional stability and the occurrence of skidding on slippery roads. The invention can be used in drivers training systems for the development of initial reactions and actions when driving, both in normal and dangerous traffic situations, when the controlled movement is disturbed due to icy conditions or for other reasons of driving on a slippery road.
The invention can be used in the systems of driving schools and trucking enterprises; it can work in any climatic and weather conditions, and can simulate difficult road conditions of various regions.
It should be pointed out that the SPbGASU Faculty of Automobile and Road Building has always been one of the leaders in the field of methodological support for automotive education. SPbGASU specialists have prepared and published a number of training manuals for drivers training. At SPbGASU, there are courses of teachers and instructors of driving schools. The developed techniques and accumulated experience are used in the training of drivers at the university’s driving school. The new patent confirms the high level of specialists of the University and will contribute to further improvement of the quality of drivers training.
