Political Scientists - Orientalists and Africanists will be Taught at Sevastopol State University
Sevastopol State University has opened the master's programme "Oriental Studies and African Studies". The master's programme is aimed at the comprehensive study of the political development of Eastern and African countries. The basis of the Oriental education is the deep linguistic education and professional mastery of Arabic. The grouping of historical, economic, ethnosocial, political and culturological disciplines prepares graduates for research, translation and practical work in the countries of Asia and Africa. “The direction of Oriental and African Studies allows a student to not only to master languages, but to become a specialist in the field of international relations in the broad sense of the word: to understand the cultural traditions and ethical norms of the East, which is extremely important in conducting negotiation processes,” said Ammar Kanah, the Programme Supervisor, PhD in Political Sciences and Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Sevastopol State University Graduates will be able to work in the diplomatic environment, government structures and government bodies, be engaged in political consulting, conduct negotiations and business correspondence in two foreign languages and work in the leading information and analytical centers in Russia and abroad. Programme partners: Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Asian and African Countries at Moscow State University and Kazan Federal University.
