Scientists of SPSUACE proposed solutions for the priority urban development program

On June 6, 2018 at Saint-Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering there was a round table "Formulation of requirements for residential areas, which will use the technology of the “smart city”. The round table was attended by representatives of government bodies, the business community and members of scientific societies. The purpose of the round table was to unite efforts to develop the program "Smart City of St. Petersburg".

On behalf of the rector of SPSUACE E.I. Rybnov, the participants of the event were greeted by the first Vice Rector of the SPSUACE I. R. Lugovskaya. Special Representative of the Governor of Saint-Petersburg on Economic Development A.I. Kotov thanked for the opportunity to hold the event within the walls of the famous university, whose graduates have done a lot for the city. "We are standing in the way of forming a new master plan for St. Petersburg ... The future depends on how much we can do for it. Each of us is responsible for this future, " A.I. Kotov stressed.

The representatives of SPSUACE acquainted the participants of the round table with the research work carried out in the university, and which is able to bring the program to a fundamentally new level. The Dean of the Faculty of Architecture F.V. Perov spoke about the complex balanced methods and approaches of SPSUACE to the development of smart cities, the requirements for a smart city in terms of architecture. The theme of the report of the Dean of the Faculty of Ecological Engineering and Municipal Services E.A. Shesterov was the transportation of functional areas. In their reports, the scientists of SPSUACE highlighted such actual issues as: intelligent transport systems, the formation of requirements for engineering networks and buildings, the methodology for assessing the ecological safety of buildings, and the economic evaluation of options for balanced design of residential areas. The scientific director of the Project Office of the SPSUACE "Smart City" A.G. Chernykh spoke about the directions and prospects of the work being done, paricularly about creating an interdisciplinary laboratory with main critical disciplines – programming, mathematics, philosophy, ontology, etc.

The reports were also made by representatives of profile committees, investors and developers of new technologies. The event ended with a lively discussion, participants outlined plans for future cooperation. The round table in SPSUACE was an important step in the development of the priority program "Smart City of St. Petersburg".
