Works of the doctor of architecture J.S.Ushakov are exhibited in SPSUACE

On 19th February, 2018 an exhibition devoted to the 90 anniversary of the doctor of architecture, professor, the winner of the State award of RSFSR on architecture Yury S.Ushakov opened in the showroom of the architectural faculty of SPSUACE.

The exhibits show a great, many-sided personality of the scientist who made more than 30 expeditions on the Russian North. He surveyed settlements in the east Priladozhje and Posvirje, Prionezhje and Zaonezhje, Pudozhsky area of Kareliya and Kargopolje, pools of Onega, Sukhona, Vychegda, Northern Dvina, Pinega and Mezen, and also all coast of the White sea.

The pictures of a well-known researcher have something in common with another artist - a senior lecturer of the department of architectural design Yury D. Brusnikin.

«Yury S. Ushakov possessed a unique gift not only to feel beauty of the Russian North, but also to bring wonderfully these feelings to us. With a figurative language and through unique graphic and works of painting he turned us on that genetic memory which returned us from ferro-concrete labyrinths of our megacities in the world of transparent springs, blue lakes, boundless dark blue woods and an amazing architecture as if created by the nature. Yury Sergeevich began his each lecture with words:« I will carry you across Russia ». “Sit down in his fantastic boat, float, look and recollect. Bon voyage !” - Valery Y. Mostovich the head of the department of history and theory of architecture of SPSUACE told at the exhibition opening.
