October 05 – World architecture day

On October 05, 2015 the world celebrates World architecture day.

World architecture day was established by the International Union of Architects in 1985. Initially it was celebrated on July, 01. However in 1996 at the 20^th General assembly in Barcelona there was made a decision to celebrate it on the first Monday of October.

International Union of Architects is an institution, which was founded right after the World War II with the purpose of renovation of the destroyed cities, villages, industrial enterprises. One of the founders and active participants of the International Union of Architects is the USSR Union of Architects. Today the International Union of Architects has over 20 national sections and over one million of architects.

Currently, when almost half of the world population lives in cities, architect has an essential importance. An architect is the person who creates the environment, transforms it and opens the influence ways on each of us.
