A group of students from Krakow Polytechnic University of Tadeusz Kosciuszko arrived at Saint Petersburg for an internship
On July 15, 2015 at Saint Petersburg there arrived a group of students from Krakow Polytechnic University of Tadeusz Kosciuszko. Polish students will spend 10 days in our city. The programme includes acquaintance with Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering, visit of engineering, architectural and mechanical objects, excursions about Saint Petersburg museums and parks.
Recently a group of students of Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering returned from a similar internship at Krakow. Our students visited engineering objects, automobile plant “Fiat”, university laboratory of concrete and “Smart house” – a unique experimental object where efficient usage of energy and environmental materials are developed. The cultural programme was also very rich as it included excursions, walks and acquaintance with Polish cultural and historic heritage.
Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering and Krakow Polytechnic University of Tadeusz Kosciuszko have been cooperating for a long term already. The agreement between the two higher education institutions was signed in 1995. This agreement determined main areas of cooperation of universities in scientific research and academic activity: conduction of investigation in cooperation, exchange of up-to-date scientific and technical information, publication of results of investigations in cooperation, organization of seminars, conferences, symposia, exchange of students, professors of some subjects for reading lectures and etc.
International cooperation is essential for all Russian higher education institutions, including Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering, which pays so much attention to this area. According to the dean of the faculty of civil engineering Alexander N. Panin, who met Polish students, nowadays Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering has approximately 60 agreements on cooperation with higher education institutions of foreign countries.
10 days long internship for students of Krakow Polytechnic University of Tadeusz Kosciuszko will become one more step on the way to mutual understanding and strengthening of partnership relations with the University of Poland.
