Students at Sevastopol State University Will Plan and Conduct Scientific Sea ResearchSevastopol State University is launching a program of complex observations of the state of the marine environment and its components.From 24th July 2018 the Research Laboratory of Marine Biotechnology and Aquaculture, together with the Center for Marine Research and Technologies at Sevastopol State University, will conduct a comprehensive hydroecological monitoring programme of bays in Sevastopol.Monitoring of the marine environment will be carried out using the latest Russian and foreign developments, including underwater robotics and a new technique for the automated processing of biological data."Another innovation is to involve all the students into the research. In order to accomplish this it is planned to include a new educational programme with practical work on the floating vessels of the university," said Alexandra Temnykh, the head of the Laboratory of Marine Biotechnology and Aquaculture. From September 2018, students will participate in the analysis of the hydrophysical and hydrobiological data obtained.The Research Laboratory of Marine Biotechnology and Aquaculture was established in September 2017. The staff at the laboratory have great experience in scientific marine research and participation in scientific expeditions in the Mediterranean, Barents, Okhotsk and Black Seas.
