The beach in Vyborg will be reconstructed according to the project of SPSUACE scientists

On June 29, 2018 the program "Vesti. Saint-Petersburg” on GTRK “Rossiya” showed the episode about the reconstruction of the beach at Cape Smolyanoy in Vyborg.

Currently, the beach is in poor condition, the remains of old piles and piers stick out of the water. According to the author of the project Associate Professor of SPSUACE Alexander Demin, the reconstruction will open the natural potential of this territory, so stones, trees and rocks will be preserved. There will be several recreational areas, changing cabins, swimming lanes in the sea, a pedestrian alley, a bicycle path, an observation deck.

“This territory is the sea gate of Vyborg," – Svetlana Danilova, the Associate Professor of Saint-Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering said. "The ferries from Lappeenranta are sailing here. Therefore, we are working on the perception of our country by foreign tourists.”

The project for the reconstruction of the beach at Cape Smolyanoy is designed for several years, but most of the work will be completed next year.
