SPSUACE students took part in the International youth ecological action «Pure coast»
On 12th May, 2018 SPSUACE students took part in the International youth ecological action «Pure coast».
The action was held by the Committee on wildlife management, preservation of environment and maintenance of ecological safety of St.-Petersburg. The action purpose was to make coastal territories pure, to draw attention to environmental problems of the Gulf of Finland.
As a basic platform for the action it was chosen a coastal zone of the Gulf of Finland in the territory of historical area Tarhovka of the Resort city district. Representatives of the youth ecological organizations and movements, student groups, ecologically responsible and not indifferent townspeople gathered there. Two teams on 13 persons represented SPSUACE.
«Pure coast» was organized in a quest format - teams competed in collecting rubbish, and cleaning was carried out by a special technique of separate gathering rubbish on beaches, which was developed by Helsinki convention across the Baltic sea.
This action was held for the fifth time within the limits of cooperation of St.-Petersburg with cities of the Baltic region: Tallinn (Estonia), Helsinki and Turku (Finland). It is one of the biggest in St.-Petersburg public eco-educational actions.
